Blogging is an amazing tool to help you learn about a topic while creating a journal along the way. I started blogging about night sky photography almost 3 years ago (2 years 8 months and 5 days to be precise). That blog helped me record my camera settings, motivated me to get out and take photos, and drove me to document little experiments that eventually landed me on National Public Radio.
This summer, my husband and I moved into a new house and I got super into landscaping. I grew up going on little landscaping jobs with my dad, and helping out on some of his company's projects for summer cash. When I had a yard of my own, I got bit by the landscaping bug in a big way.
I noticed myself taking the same approach to landscaping that I did when I started star photography. I like to get in there and try it and learn along the way. I realized I know just enough to realize how little I know! I decided to take the same approach, and to start this journal to keep track of what I try - what works and what doesn't work - and document the process.
Besides, it gives me something to do in the winter and on rainy days! I know my husband, Chris, is going to LOOOVE how much time I spend blogging now that I have two blogs! Haha!
So here's my official sappy maiden-voyage post to get things started!
